To make explorer movies, you follow this procedure.
1. Start explorer
2. Bring on an explorer map video.map (~dale/explorer/maps/video.map)
3. Use command line command
> frame 100 740 100 596
to create a frame("ntcs") on lower left corner of
the screen and adjust your ``render'' screen to this frame. Don't forget to
kill the command 'frame' once you set ``render'' in place.
4. Make sure you clear every window out of the way for the frame.
Then check connections on explorer map (put captureImg0 between "render"
and "for"; connect render output Sync parameter to captureImg0 Sync in
parameters
and connect for output current value to captureImg0 input index.
When you are ready, connect captureImg0 output Sync parameter to for input
loop value 0).
And then activate ``enable'' button on captureImg0 module to dump .rgb
files. (see the manu on the module for details on how to set up parameters.)
5. Use "rgbplay" to make sure you created correct .rgb files.
Use "ipaste" to see each .rbg file.
6. To make MPEG movies, you use "makempeg".
7. Now to dump on optical discs, you do the following.
8. Go to the einstein's cold room.
9. Turn on optical disc loader, 8mm recorder, SONY TV monitor and set TV
to video1 (use video3 to see output of 8mm recorder).
Do not turn on the thing beneath 8mm.
Start on einstein "vlipanel" to initialize, vlipanel controls videolab
(set input to ``Analog RGB'' on the panel).
do not touch ldr front panel( botton should be set to CMPNT )
10. Load an panasonic optical disc.
11. On einstein
> black
> cd [directory where .rbs are]
> rgbplay -n foo -b 1 -e 104 -r evolution1
Then it will automatically record on the optical disc.
It also create .video_trace file.
12. Once you record everything on the optical disc run "ldrps" to record on
8mm tape. You have to push "REC" button on sony 8mm right before `ldrps'
command. And input select should be set to ``line'' on sony 8mm.
> ldrps .video_trace
13. Bring your 8mm tape to video shop to make VHS video tape.
14. Bring that VHS tape to the conference!! and play it!!
15. For titles, look at Jason's
Webpage and prototype files.
